TDI Decompression Procedures
Are you finding your NDL's to be a hindrance during your dives? Do you have to ascend sooner than you would like? As sport divers, planned decompression is not something we are trained to do, but taking the TDI Decompression Procedures course prepares you for planned decompression up to 45 meters/150 feet. This course is your first step beyond the normal sport diving limits, and it can be combined with the TDI Advanced Nitrox course to form the foundation for all other technical training.
TDI Advanced Nitrox
Are you ready to begin your technical evolution? Maybe you are a scientist or photographer who needs more bottom time. Is the desire for exploration cultivating an interest in dives that require a technical approach? The TDI Adv. Nitrox course is the foundational process for your technical journey. In addition to learning how to use gas mixtures with up to 100% Oxygen, you will delve into the skill sets and gear configuration required for technical diving. This course can be taught in conjunction with the Deco Procedures course at the discretion of the Instructor.
By the end of this course you should be proficient at:
- Physics and physiology relating to diving with gas mixes containing more than 40% oxygen
- Gas planning, dive tables, dive computers, oxygen limitations, nitrogen limitations
- Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox mixtures, gas blending procedures, and oxygen service ratings for using gases with more than 40% oxygen
- Demonstrating buoyancy control; ability to hover at fixed position in water column without moving hands or feet
- Showing good awareness of buddy and other team members through communication, proximity, and team oriented dive practices
- Decompression dive planning including:
- Decompression gas choices
- Tables vs. personal dive computers
- Emergency and contingency planning (equipment failure, omitted decompression, etc.)
- Decompression diving procedures
- Equipment selection
- Pre-dive checks and drills
- Stress analysis and mitigation
- Following a decompression schedule
- Gas switching
- Team awareness and communication
- SMB/lift bag deployment
- Proper trim, buoyancy and finning techniques
- Emergency procedures (equipment failures, catastrophic gas loss, omitted decompression, navigational errors, etc.)
Our Prerequisites:
- Minimum age of 18
- Rescue diver certification from any recognized training agency
- Nitrox diver and Adv. Nitrox certifications from any recognized training agency
- Proof of 50 logged dives or more
- Experience diving from a boat in the ocean
Base Price: $900
Pricing includes a base amount that covers the e-learning materials, certification fees, and instruction. Additional expenses include travel, accommodations, boat fees, rental gear, and required personal gear (this varies depending on course type). All classes are non-refundable and it is the students responsibility to stay in touch with instructor. No guarantee to pass, remedial training may be required. All prices are for cash add 4% for CC purchases. It is up to you to make it class and be an active participant. There is no guarantee you will pass the class but we will do everything possible to get you diving. We will not just sign off though, we want you to be a safe and confident diver. If needed, additional sessions are $100 per session plus quarry/pool fees.
